Ways to pay for home safety changes

Most families pay privately. Some people qualify for help from the VA, NC Medicaid or a Medicare Advantage plan. We can't promise coverage, but we provide the written plan and quote your case manager needs.

Private pay

Card or check. The assessment is $249. Projects of $2,500 or more start with a 50% deposit, with the balance due after your final walkthrough.

VA home adaptation grants

Eligible veterans may get help through the VA's Specially Adapted Housing (SAH), Special Housing Adaptation (SHA) and HISA programs. Eligibility and amounts are set by the VA. VA housing grants

NC Medicaid CAP/DA

The Community Alternatives Program for Disabled Adults can cover some minor home modifications. Your CAP/DA case manager decides what's covered. NC Medicaid

Medicare Advantage extras

Original Medicare generally doesn't pay for home modifications. Some Medicare Advantage plans include bathroom-safety benefits. Call the number on your plan card and ask.

Financing: we don't offer financing right now.
