How much does it cost to convert a tub to a shower in Concord?
It depends on what you need. Some Charlotte-area companies install one-day acrylic kits for around $3,000. We offer two options and will tell you honestly which one fits.
Prefab low-threshold shower
quoted after assessmentFaster and lower cost. A low-threshold pan and wall system with a seat, handheld spray and grab bars.
Good fit: someone who can step over a low lip with support.
Tiled conversion
quoted after assessmentBuilt for safety: blocking in the walls for grab bars anywhere, slip-resistant tile and a lower or curbless entry. Permitted and inspected.
Good fit: walker users and anyone who needs more room to transfer.
Curbless roll-in shower
from $15,500A recessed or sloped floor with a linear drain, so a wheelchair or shower chair rolls straight in.
Often funded in part by VA housing grants for eligible veterans.
Comfort-height toilet
$895A taller toilet with a safety frame or grab bar, installed by a licensed plumber.
Starting prices. Your final price is in your written quote. Prices don't include NC sales tax where it applies. What changes the price: plumbing changes, the size of the space, tile choices, and whether a permit is required.
Timeline
Grab bars and small fixes: usually within about 2 weeks of your assessment. Shower conversions: we confirm the timeline in your quote, including permit time with Cabarrus County. Projects of $2,500 or more start with a 50% deposit.
Bathroom questions
Are suction-cup grab bars safe?
Not for holding your weight. Suction bars can let go without warning. A grab bar you lean on should be anchored into studs or blocking.
How long does a tub-to-shower conversion take?
It depends on the option and on permits. We give you a timeline in your written quote.
Walk-in tub or shower conversion: which is safer?
For most people we see, a low-threshold shower with a seat is easier to use. With a walk-in tub you sit inside while it fills and drains. We'll talk through both during your assessment.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, when Cabarrus County or the City of Concord requires them. Plumbing work is done by NC-licensed plumbers.
